The Bright Skies is a thrilling day time trail marathon, half marathon and 10K race (with canix races), as well as a 1K/2K kid’s race for 3-12 year-olds. Bright Skies was born off the back of the Dark Skies event (part of the Wild Night Run Series), after several people said they loved the route but would like to see some of it!

It follows an undulating yomp through Surrey’s muddy, rolling hills in Dorking. Passing through the Denbies Estate in the Surrey Hills, this is our fifth event at Denbies and we love it here. 

*Please note: the marathon will be mostly self navigation for the first half but we will be using 'reassurance' abd wrong way markers. The second half within Denbies will be completely marked. GPS devices with the route on are permitted. There are two checkpoints on the first half of the marathon course which must be visited. 

**For the canix races we will have extra water bowls at the feed stations. There is also a tap a near the hach at Denbies for afterwards but we will have extra water at the finish. 

Event timing on Sunday July 26th, 2026:

7am- Registration for marathon. Registration at Denbies (event marque/gazebo)

8.00am-Start of marathon

8.00pm – 10.30am: Registration for all other events

9:00am Start of kid’s races

9:30pm finish of kid’s races followed by presentation

10:00am: Start of half marathon and 5k

10:45am Start of 10k 

12 noon: Presentation half marathon,10k and marathon
