Ben is our fell expert and a fantastic addition to the team and will be helping to build the Wild Running Camps in the Lake District, as well as working as one of our guides in France. He moved to the Lake District after graduating almost ten years ago and is currently living in Ambleside, where you can find him working as a chef, when he is not out on the fells.
Ben is a resilient chap: Having broken his back in a paragliding accident 2004 in New Zealand, he got back to some running, then into cycling and triathlons, and eventually mountain marathons. His main sport is fell running; “the longer the better” he says. He has twice won the Lakeland Classics Trophy – series of long and super-long category fell races. He won silver medal at the English Fell Running Champions, gaining an England vest while competing at the World Long Distance Championships in Slovenia. He is the current record holder for the Lakeland 50.
