Volunteer for Wild Running
If you are reliable, committed and willing to participate in the organization of a running event, to us you are manna from heaven!
Why not become a Wild Running Event Volunteer?
We don’t expect you to do it for nothing. We offer our marshals free entry to events organised by Wild Running Ltd, as well as some of our caterer’s tasty grub (subsidised by us) or an event t shirt. Or we pay generous travel expenses.
The areas of speciality include:
Route signposting: You will help our team with marking the course on the basis of existing GPX tracks. You will also help to collect signs after the event. If you are keen to get a bit of extra mileage in, this could be your thing!
Route marshals: You will supervise the route sections, carry out the continuity check and motivate the runners
T-shirt sales: You will sort out the tshirts whcih were pre ordered, as well as selling on the day t shirts and making a list of any missing to reorder.
Timing: Assist with our timing officers either with manual entry or paper back up, as well as collecting in timing chips from competitors as they finish.
Feed Stations: This is a biggie, as you will be feeding participants as they hit ‘refuel’ as well as offering a few words of encouragement.
Registration/Baggage area: You will help to give out race packs, answer any event questions and support the team before the start.
Other: Anything else which needs doing.
EVENT CONSTRUCTION (EVENT DAY):
Erection and dismantling: Helping to erect and dismantle starting arch, gazebo and registration area
Branding: You will be helping to signpost the car ark, toilets, registration area and refreshments.
